Not Getting Canara Bank OTP on My First Attempt

Hello everyone. I do not know if it is the correct forum to ask this question. For the past two months, I have been facing a problem with Canara Bank online transactions.

While paying bills online, I use the netbanking feature of Canara Bank. Everything worked fine until they asked me to enter the OTP code. I never received the OTP on my mobile phone. I have to wait for a minute and click the option regenerate OTP. Then only, Canara Bank sends me OTP. Is it normal or some errors in their mobile SMS settings? Has anyone else faced this issue?

Thank you, Yashika. What do you think about my question? I tried once again, and the Canara Bank sent OTP only on the second attempt. There is no OTP on the first attempt.

I too experienced it Arjun. I thought it was due to the network problem and happened just with me. Glad to know that I am not the only one faces it. I guess something wrong with Canara Netbanking SMS system.

I have experience with banking security setups. Arjun Shenai, can you explain what exactly your problem is with the Canara Bank SMS system? Have you contacted the Canara Bank phone support?

I use Canara Bank's Netbanking to pay my online bills. After confirming the payment, they ask me to enter the transaction password and OTP.

I filled in the transaction password and waited for the OTP SMS from Canara Bank. It never came. I have to wait for one minute and then click the link "Regenerate OTP" for them to send the SMS.

I experienced it in all transactions for the last two months. I was in different cities, and the mobile network signal was fine. So, the problem must be on the Canara Bank's side.

Good day Sanal Mohan and Arjun shenai. Sorry for the delay; I was busy with my work. I used the Canara Bank Netbanking feature to pay an online bill and did not receive the OTP message on my phone on the first attempt. So, I agree with your concern. The problem must be with the bank server side.

My theory says the Canara bank security team disabled the OTP on the first attempt as part of their improved security strategy.

I think you are correct Prasad. Some intentional security feature to prevent OTP in first attempt. I do not know how it helps bank customers. Its frustrating while doing an urgent transaction.
