What is The Difference Between Fluid Design and Responsive Design?

Post by Peter »

I am new to web designing and confused with the terms of responsive and fluid designs. Can you explain the difference between fluid design and responsive design? Which one is better for a website to load on mobile devices?

Fluid Design Versus Responsive Design

Post by Alex George »

If you build a website with percentage (instead of pixel size), we call it a fluid design. In fluid design, the same layout loads on all devices.

In a responsive theme, different web layouts load on each device. That means the layout loads on a desktop PC are different from the iPad.

Go for Responsive Themes. Fluid design is one method for developing responsive themes, but it has some problems with smaller screens.

No one is going for fluid designs these days. Its outdated. You should go for Bootstrap templates.
