External Monitor Flickering With My Ubuntu Laptop

I have a problem with my external monitor and Ubuntu laptop. If I connect the external monitor to the HDMI port of my Ubuntu laptop, it starts flickering. I tried a new cable, but no use. It was working fine until last month. I do not know what caused this flickering trouble with my Ubuntu laptop.

Hello Martin, my first instinct tells me the culprit might be the HDMI cable. Connect your external monitor to the Ubuntu laptop with another HDMI cable, and tell me whether it works.
