I am new to the Search Engine Optimization industry. I know today's websites keep desktop and mobile versions. My question is about Google's priority in indexing both website versions.
Which version of a website is cached by Google?

Google is strictly following mobile first indexing. Google index and cache the mobile version.Burak Yaman wrote:

Re: Google Index Which Version Of a Website
Google spiders crawl and index the mobile version of a website. If you have a responsive website, you have nothing fear. Google will index the mobile version. If your website still uses older desktop template, Google may ignore it entirely.
Re: Google Index Which Version Of a Website
Google typically indexes the mobile version of a website first, especially since mobile-first indexing became the standard. This means Google looks at the mobile version for ranking and caching, even if the desktop version is available.
