Today morning I saw an error "Error 797: The Modem was not Found" while connecting my modem to the PC with a USB cable.
It is a windows PC, and I used a USB cable to connect the modem. Is it a critical issue?

Error 797: modem not found error tells a driver corruption. Go to the device manager and uninstall the current driver. Let Windows find the right driver for the modem and install it.

Error 797, A connection to the remote access server was not made because the modem was not found
I had the exact error message on my Windows laptop. Error 797, A connection to the remote access server was not made because the modem was not found.
I was using a USB modem to connect to the Internet. I fixed the error 797 by updating the network card driver and modem firmware.

If you receive the error code 797 modem not found, try to disable the modem from the device manager. Then, re-enable it after three minutes. In most cases, it will fix the problem.
