USB Drive is Gray and Cannot Open on a Windows Laptop

I have been facing a strange problem with one USB storage for the past week. This USB drive shows as gray when I connect it to my Windows Laptop. I cannot click on it or open it. Why did a USB Drive get grayed?

Your situation sounds like a corrupted USB storage device. Have you checked the USB drive with another computer?

Yes, I checked it on my friend's laptop. No luck. It is grayed out on his laptop also.
